Simple naan on a pan.
Gives 8 pcs. Not difficult.
Ingredients
- Dough
- 500g flour
- 14g dried yeast
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 3dl lukewarm water
- 4 tbsp yogurt
- 2 tsp salt
- 8 tbsp melted butter
- Other
- Olive oil
- Kitchen brush
Method
1.
- Put half of the flour in a bowl, add yeast and water. Mix with a fork.
- Cover and rest for 30 min.
2.
- Add rest of the flour, yogurt, salt and butter. Knead to mix (but no further kneading needed).
- Cover and rest for 15 min.
3.
- Sprinkle some flour on a surface and knead the dough until it's not sticky.
- Divide into 8 pcs and rest for 5 min.
4.
- Flatten pieces to about 3-4 mm thick (pancake size).
- Smear a bit of oil in a hot pancake pan and put a piece in.
- It's done really quickly, so smear oil on the other side (using a brush) then flip.
- Cooking time per naan 2-3 min.
Notes
Be careful with the oil, only very little is needed. If you add too much, your naans will be a bit greasy.
Could try a slighly lower (than ripping hot) pan temperature.
